I read both 1 and 2 when they came out in May. I felt that the voice of the story teller was not the voice I was used to, from all of his previous books. That disappointed me, as I have grown to expect that feel. I would give 5 stars automatically because I loved all previous books. That would not be my honest review. I didn't want to see Freya as weak and simpering, like a bloody door mat and then feel her dip her toe into the pool, and inch at a time. It took a while for her to find her own strength but it felt like, it was a man who showed her the way. Women are strong, but we do make our weaknesses into our strengths on our own journey, in our own time. It doesn't mean automatically we need a man to be our compass. That's what it felt like Corey was. I did like that Corey was knowing and patient lover. As I got into the book, I started to like it much more. So I liked it and the second book felt connected. I would have loved for Tristan to fry a lot more, so he could learn something. If you love this author, keep reading him, and do read both of the newest books.Product details
